As founder of the World School of Massage and Holistic Healing Arts in the San Francisco Bay Area, I have been training professional California State Certified Massage Therapists, Bodyworkers and Holistic Health Life Caoches for 33 years. With my background in Exercise Physiology and Trigonometry I have excelled in the development of bodywork forms. Vibrational Healing Massage Therapy (VHMT) Levels 1-4, one of my babies, has also evolved out of my experience of bringing my own personal spirit more fully into embodiment after many shocking childhood experiences. Some refer to this process as ‘spiritualization of matter.’
I feel that VHMT in all it’s four levels enlivens the fluid movement consciousness and cellular memory in our bodies like no other massage therapy or bodywork. The philosophies that accompany this form of bodywork give us simple access to our fluid birth right, conscious language, thoughts, behaviors, and depth of being. Learning or receiving this bodywork facilitates the release of stress and distortion long hidden in the tissues of bodies. VHMT can be done on it’s own or can be integrated with other therapies and techniques to enhance or complement them when desired. I am grateful to share it with the world!
The following article is a part of the conscious languaging that VHMT brings forth. We also teach the power of declarations and manifestation in our ‘Thank and Be Wealthy’ course and in our ‘Your Power to Create’ module. Read on for some fun!
Background
Few know that in the 1970’s I was the owner of two locations of skateboard shops in Sacramento, California, called Skateboard City. I was also instrumental in building two skateboard parks. One called Sierra Wave, in Rancho Cordova, which turned out to be one of the most challenging parks in the world, and the second one was an indoor skateboard park built in the once famous Pioneer Skate Rink in Fair Oaks, California.
Why would I tell a massage table audience about my history in the skateboard business? Why would I use your precious time in this article to speak about skateboarding?
Well here’s why: it is a very cool way for me to let you know about creation and how you each make a difference when you declare what you want into the world!
Here is clarification for you on what I am getting to:
In 1977, I purchased my first Skateboard City store on Madison Avenue in Fair Oaks, California. I was so excited by what I was experiencing at Mission Oaks Park District on Sunrise Boulevard in Fair Oaks with kids having so much fun on skateboards, that I wanted to get involved. I was no newcomer to the sport: my brother had been a great freestyle skateboarder in the 1960’s and I was familiar with how he loved to tinker with and rebuild his board for more functionality for better tricks. I also saw ‘kids’ ages 4-72 years old getting so much value just in our parking lot! I then knew I would have to get into this phenomenon myself! I said to my friend Mark Stanley, “We have to get skateboards!” This was my first real speaking about my future in the skateboard industry!
So what I really got out of the Skateboard Industry is how powerful my words are in creating my own experiences of reality….and maybe other’s realities, too. In my life in the Skatebarod industry I declared to have “2 Skateboards in Every garage!” So read on if you want to understand more the power of the spoken word in relation to your manifestations!
Declarations – What is a Declaration?
What is a declaration? Well, if any of you have done the World School’s, ‘Thank and Be Wealthy’ course, our ‘Creation Course’, or our course called, ‘Your Power to Create,’ you will know that a declaration is a linguistic phenomenon, where one speaks something into existence from no evidence, from nothing. It is speaking what you are creating into existence, usually with an audience of at least one, that can back you up as a witness when you speak your creation (declaration).
Werner Erhard, of the EST Training and Landmark Education since the 1970’s calls this witness a “committed listener.” He was instrumental, by the way, for popularizing coaching into the mainstream, as he knew, that when you speak powerfully with a committed listener backing your word, you are more likely to succeed. He popularized the now famous Goethe quote about commitment that is very worthy for all of us to read and re-read, or even memorize, and live by:
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness.
Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation) there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, rising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidences and meetings and material assistance, which no man would have dreamed would have come his way.
Whatever you can dream, you can begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now!”
A Declaration Becomes Your Motto!
So, when I began my business, Skateboard City, I spoke one special declaration out to my colleagues and staff regularly. The words I used back then, that were even used by newspaper reporters in headlines were these, “2 Skateboards in every garage!”
Skateboard City became known for this motto! It supported us in becoming famous, not only all over the state, but nationally and internationally! All of providence moved to support us in our creation; our invention. Our little less than 300 square foot space began to rock! We were open 7 days a week, making record days more than not, and sponsoring or putting on local skateboard tournaments regularly. Everyone got into the picture…equipment was developed, magazines published, Van’s shoes were designed and even now cities and counties have gentle skate parks for kids. Back then, when we declared, it was not only non-existent, but no government official would even touch the possibility!
We began to sell skateboards to everyone! Governor Jerry Brown bought one from us! Even Bill Cosby bought 6 skateboards from us, one for each of his children!
So you see, I spoke my vision into existence. Do you ever go anywhere now and not see skateboards? Isn’t it so that everyone knows about skateboarding now? Either people have one, have had one, or know kids of all ages that have them. Most garages and even front porches, probably have even more than one!
So I tell you massage therapists about this special proclamation that I made in 1977 because I now have had the World School of Massage and Holistic Healing Arts schools for over 33 years. I see daily the huge difference that the massage/bodywork modalities (in all their many forms) make to people and pets of all sizes and ages.
From this background of information I’m bursting at the seams, to declare for everyone here to witness:
A massage table in every home!
Clarification: I say that people are awakening to massage therapy/bodywork and its fundamental benefits exponentially, such that every home will have a massage table!
The Basics of Manifestation, of Declarations:
- Be bursting at the seams with excitement about your vision and what you want…be present to your real emotions behind the declaration.
- Speak it simply and clearly with words that are positive and proactive…craft it and practice it.
- Speak it to an audience that is committed to your success: I will tell my staff and faculty members so they can align how they might want to interact with the new distinction called. ‘a massage table in every home.’ Do you see how this might benefit their business or their visions?
- Begin to notice what comes up: breakdowns will occur when your mind chatter tells you that you cannot ever do that, etc…doubt, fear of failure, judgments…they all come up when you declare and that makes declaring a transformational tool to grow and develop yourself…ie, without the new commitment being declared you might just hide out and stay comfortable.
- Check in for action steps, milestones of achievements, word crafting, keep updating yourself and others on the progress, news items and wins!
- If you do get stuck in a breakdown, get clearing and step right back into the ring of fire. Remember a declaration requires no real tracking unless it is a commitment, but the energy will move providence and all time, space and dimension towards your desired outcome! If you do have milestones and a measurable end result then track that too, and never give up!
- Make powerful requests in order to accomplish steps forward towards meeting of your goals.
- Be patient, stay in the uncomfortable longer, and watch for any openings that come alive in order to move energy towards the fulfillment of something new to occur!
- It is also to note that having an un-achievable goal like this keeps you active, alive and healthy; in the game, participating and having fun!
In summary, I know that if I can do this declaring thing then anyone can. It has become a way of life for me and helps me achieve all my desires. It has also helped me be patient, get what I really need and not just what I want.

PS: Hint. Put a massage table in your home and relax on it more often. Even find a friend to do a massage trade with you, or massage your mom. Discover what you may be holding onto and willing to feel if your body let’s go of its old holding patterns. Just connecting with others in this way of touch can bring so much more of you, to you!
